Seeds are pelleted with various powders for several different reasons:

• to make them heavier for easier sowing
• to embed pesticides, fertilisers, fungi or bacteria
• to give the grains a uniform size and shape
• to improve the flowability of the seed

Various products are available. They are selected and tested for their suitability in combination with other additives or seed dressings.
